An observation I had during exhibition setup—perhaps not universally true, but certainly thought-provoking.
The externalization of one’s inner world isn’t limited to clothing; it can also manifest in the dimensions of one's creative work, at least from an artistic standpoint. The design and color of a piece often give us a general sense of the artist’s personality—whether warm, distant, or something more nuanced. But the scale of the work feels like a projection of how much of themselves the artist is willing to present to the outside world. The smaller the piece, the more reserved it seems—almost as if the artist is reluctant to be seen. The larger it is, the more boldly it asserts itself, revealing a desire to occupy space and be witnessed.
